M.Tech has landed a new deal with SolarWinds
Security distributor, M.Tech, has landed a new deal with network management software vendor, SolarWinds.
M.Tech general manager, Max Fredericks, said it was on the lookout for good products to offer the enterprise market.
“SolarWinds is an important addition to our product range and it complements other things that we do,” he said. “This product allows customers to manage their network and security devices. It broadens the market scope for us.”
Enterprise-level resellers would be best suited to take on the range.
“Some of the major banks are users of this product, so it would suit anybody that deals with the financial industry,” Fredericks said.
M.Tech is part of the Singaporean Multi-Chen Group and recently established an Australian presence, marking its tenth Asia-Pacific location. It also has branches in Malaysia, India, Thailand, Vietnam, China and Taiwan.
“I plan to replicate M.Tech’s success that we’ve had in other countries,” Fredericks said. “Since our inception, each country that we’ve gone into has been successful.
Fredericks added it provides value-add distribution including training and first-level support to resellers across its portfolio. In 2009, M.Tech plans to establish a second office in Melbourne and is looking to enhance its vendor portfolio. Its line-up includes Proofpoint, Imperva and Tippingpoint.
“They have to be quality vendors with a good reputation and be appropriate for the enterprise space as we don’t do SMB,” Fredericks said.
Before joining M.Tech, Fredericks was northern region sales manager for Secure Computing, and the general manager of Dovetail Distribution before it was acquired by itX in 2006.
