Logica will provide outsourced IT facilities management support to Melbourne-based utility City West Water after signing a two-year contract worth in excess of $800,000.
Under the new contract, UK-based systems integrator Logica will deliver 24x7 monitoring and management of all City West Water's IT facilities. This includes a 24x7 help desk, remote monitoring of servers and networks, full-time onsite presence during business hours, around-the-clock call-out response, desktop support, server and network management, and Unix, NT, Lotus Notes and Citrix Metaframe administration.
There were six finalists in contention for the Government-owned drinking water and waste utility's contract, the others being Hanson, Unisys, HP, Fujitsu and iPex.
The latest win caps off a highly successful six months for Logica, which recently secured long-term outsourcing contracts with NSW Government-owned organisations Eraring Energy and Pacific Power, and some of Australia's largest energy and utilities companies, including TXU, Woodside, Transend and Yarra Valley Water.
