3Com VCX Connect
3Com VCX Connect solutions allow organisations with up to 250 phone users to replace their ageing PBXs with a standards-based communications system that integrates IP telephony and unified messaging applications onto a single platform. Support of a full range of 3Com IP phones, including a multimedia soft-phone, ensures high-quality audio and easy access to VCX Connect features. The vendor claims that the open standards approach offers users a reduced cost of ownership and increases investment protection. Numerous VoIP gateway options facilitate migration from PSTN to IP-based communications, allowing the continued use of legacy PBXs as needed to minimise business disruptions and align implementations with budget considerations. VCX Connect systems also support optional redundancy on critical components to increase resilience and further ensure business continuity.

The Polycom TPX series offers a number of solutions designed to make people feel as though they are sitting across the table from co-workers, partners and customers in other locations. The same-room experience is made possible through high-definition video displayed in life-like proportions, high-definition directional audio that allows participants to hear where remote participants are located within the room when they speak, and high-definition content-sharing capabilities that allow participants to share virtually any type of content simultaneously in a call. The Polycom TPX 306M is a three-screen solution for medium and large environments accommodating up to six people on camera in each location, and features personal, pop-up content displays embedded within the table. The Polycom TPX 204M is a two-screen solution for small and medium conference environments accommodating up to four people in each location, and the TPX 102M is a single-screen solution for small meeting environment and offices accommodating up to two people at each location.

Cisco TelePresence System 500
The smaller footprint of the Cisco TelePresence System 500 has been designed to give organisations the flexibility to deploy within personal offices to support one-on-one meetings, or to join large, multipoint calls. The System 500 delivers the same video, audio and environmental features that create the immersive, face-to-face experience across the entire portfolio. Its streamlined footprint fits private offices for installation with little-to-no room remediation and construction cost, and integrates a 37-inch display, camera, microphone, speakers, and lighting into its design. The system is optimised for one or two users to project themselves at full audio and video quality to any endpoint in a TelePresence meeting, and allows multipoint meetings with up to 48 screens in any combination of endpoints. The System 500 integrates with common enterprise calendaring programs to enable call start and controls and allows data or graphics content sharing through an external monitor, or presentation-in-picture (PIP) format in space-constrained offi ces. When not in a TelePresence call, the System 500 can be used as a secondary PC monitor, or to show video for digital signage.

Pbxnsip V3.0 Office Edition IP-PBX
The pbxnsip Office Edition software IP-PBX is designed for businesses that need to support up to 200 IP phone extensions. The product can be implemented in either Windows or Linux environments, is fully SIP standard compliant and allows users to choose best-of-class hardware components when implementing the corporate communication infrastructure. As well as the PBX feature set, pbxnsip incorporates unified communications functions and the ability to integrate with Microsoft Exchange 2007 Unified Messaging and Office Communications Server 2007. The options for enhancing business communications workflows and productivity include integrated office extension/cell phone ‘call forking,’ extension ‘hot desking,’ automatic presentation of extension voicemail messages to cell phone via a PBX-generated call, shared Presence information and Instant Messaging, and the ability to manage Outlook components such as calendars, appointments and tasks via a speech recognition interface remotely via IP or mobile phone. Pbxnsip is supplied in flexible license packs designed for small offices through to large corporates, and call centre, hosted telephony and ITSP dedicated version license packs are also available.
