WebAgain software is designed to protect Web sites from defacement, kicking in automatically to repair content damage caused by hacker attacks. WebAgain stores a copy of the Web site. When an intrusion is detected, WebAgain re-posts the original content without any user involvement. With a recommended retail price of $2189, the software is distributed through Janteknology.

NewTech Infosystems has released NTI DriveBackup! The program provides backup and disaster recovery for PCs using CDs as the storage medium. Features include media spanning, multiple backup, on-the-fly compression and password protection. DriveBackup is available now through Marketing Results and retails for $79.95.

Veritas has announced a new version of Backup Exec for Windows NT and 2000. Backup Exec 8.6 adds backup and recovery functions for online and database applications running on NT or 2000 business environments, as well as new performance and management tools. Veritas claims the new version is the first software that integrates online data protection and recovery for Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server. Version 8.6 is available through authorised distributors (ACA Pacific, Alstom IT, Express Data, Simms and Tech Pacific). Retail pricing is $1500 for the Server edition and $2225 for the Advanced Server edition.
