NSW-based Apple reseller, Academy Store, has unveiled new lab and cinema facilities at its newly launched Bondi Junction premises.
Managing director, Ben Morgan, said the 12-seat hands-on lab and 24-seat cinema were part of plans to grow its education business.
He estimated the Bondi Junction store would stage 630 training events per three-month semester.
Complemented by an interactive website, the sessions will cover everything from basic Mac operation to advanced video editing and graphic design. A further 12-seat training lab decked out with higher specification equipment is slated to open in three months.
Morgan said Academy store, formerly AppleCentre Taylor Square, would be handling more than 130 students per day once it gets up to speed. He is also in discussions with community education groups.
Morgan recently finalised a financing partnership with ThinkCredit, which has seen Academy Store offering business rental and interest-free consumer purchasing since July 1.
"The new store has cemented in customer minds that our intentions are real," he said. "It was hard being one of the smallest Apple stores in the country. We have now turned that into Australia's largest."
