Intersell launches new ordering functionality for resellers

New tool will connect a reseller's TechLink4U website with Ingram's back-end systems

E-Commerce applications provider, Intersell, has launched an EDI interface to allow resellers using its TechLink4U product to connect directly into Ingram Micro's back-end systems.

Intersell general manager, Wayne Troy, said orders made by a reseller's customer through their TechLink4U website were previously manually keyed into Ingram's own systems to process.

The new electronic data interchange (EDI) functionality would eliminate the double-entry and minimise the risk of mistakes in orders, he said.

The EDI tool also allows customers to view orders received and get online updates on order status. It is available as a free update to registered TechLink4U users.

Last month, Intersell launched the software annuity piece of its software platform, Licence Tracker. The module gives resellers the ability to oversee volume licensing from nine of Ingram's software partners including Microsoft, Symantec and Adobe as well as receive renewal alerts 90 days prior to expiry date.

Licence Tracker is part of the Quote Builder tool and sits alongside the e-marketing application, Campaign Builder, and the TechLink4U e-commerce website kit.

Intersell's e-commerce software suite is exclusive to Ingram Micro and available to resellers with a $10,000 or more credit limit. Troy said it had 143 live TechLink sites across Australia as well as 31 resellers using QuoteBuilder.

Intersell is now working on customising its offering for the New Zealand market with plans to launch the software in that country on July 1.

"Our relationship with Ingram is at a regional level so we're looking at opportunities from a regional perspective," Troy said.

Intersell is also considering adding a warranty renewals application into the platform.
