Virtual.Offis enters a new Paradigm

PBKA subdiary to take on Virtual.Offis virtualisation platform to target SMB space

The software and services incubation arm of PK Business Advantage, Paradigm Technology Group, has struck an agreement to use Virtual.Offis' platform for its SMB virtualisation solutions.

Paradigm will take Virtual.Offis' virtual server platform and resell it as part of a broader managed service solution. Paradigm commercial director, Mark Stead, said it had spent a good part of its first year of operation finding best of breed, locally-developed technologies to take to the SMB market. The Virtual.Offis platform will be rebranded under the Paradigm label.

"We felt bringing all the elements together under one name would help the commercialisation of the technologies," Stead said.

Paradigm will initially use PKBA for sales and support, and leverage Virtual.Offis for subject matter expertise and pre-sales. Virtual.Offis CEO, Craig Allen, said part of the appeal was working with long-time colleague, PKBA CEO, Peter Kazacos.

"We're very excited about this relationship. I believe Kazacos is a figurehead of the industry and we're keen to assist them on this venture," Allen said.

Virtual.Offis officially launched in early March, and aims to remove 1000 servers from the SMB sector over the next three years.

PKBA unveiled Paradigm earlier this year to help foster and commercialise home-grown technologies.
