ASUS has taken up the 64-bit challenge with the new P5 motherboard series, which gives full driver support to 64-bit computing architecture.
"The series is aimed at mid- to high-end PC users," said ASUS components manager Albert Liang. "It is ideal for graphic designers and gamers, as it offers high-quality video and audio performance as well as 3D rendering."
The ASUS P5 series motherboards are BIOS-updated and Intel EIST-ready. EIST (Enhanced Intel SpeedStep technology) enables the P5 motherboards to automatically adjust the CPU's core voltage and frequency according to system performance demand.
The P5 series is Intel Extended Memory 64 Technology (EM64T)-ready, which means it can support both 64-bit and 32-bit operations, providing system compatibility and upgrade flexibility.
P5 motherboard series 64-bit drivers are available for download from the company website: www.asus.com.au.
ASUS components are distributed in Australia through Achieva, Synnex and Cassa. The P5 64-bit series consists of 16 models ranging in price from $99 to $429.
