Sydney-based distributor, Conexus, has inked a deal with TV accessories vendor, Elgato Systems.
Conexus sales and marketing director, Mark Daley, said the signing was a dream scenario for the organisation. Elgato's range of EyeTV hardware offers Mac users a variety of options to watch, record, and edit Standard Definition Television (SDTV) or High Definition Television (HDTV). The created video content can then be pushed onto an iPod.
"In terms of market leadership, we'd put Elgato up there with JBL or Harmon Kardon. It's just that good," he said. "The software is the industry standard and leads in the Mac space."
Daley said the Elgato products synchronsed with the local IceTV free-to-air electronic program guide for media centres and personal video recorders. "This is such a well-established product in the Mac channel," he said. "Everyone knows it, and now they know that they can get it from us."
Conexus is also pinning future sales on the recent arrival of the Apple TV, which broadly supports Elgato's digital media convergence strategy.
