A crop of new vendor deals has Queensland-based distributor, XiT, broaden into the component market. It has signed agreements with Logitech, LaCie and Albatron.
Managing director, Santo Pappalardo, said the deals had been signed to meet demand from its resellers.
"We have never been in the motherboard market or the components space but we were seeing demand from our resellers," he said. "It is a new market for us and we are just dipping our toes in the water to see what happens. It has been a good response so far."
XiT will carry the whole range of LaCie and Albatron products. It will also offer dealers the top 40 Logitech SKUs including its X-230 and X-530 speaker range, Universal remotes, QuickCams, mice and keyboards.
Pappalardo said XiT would offer a bundled package including motherboards, CPUs and memory products.
Other distributors of the LaCie range include Ingram Micro and Express Online.
XiT join Auscomp, Impact Systems and Also Technology in the Albatron distributor stable.
Albatron sales director, George Ibraham, said XiT had a strong focus on the northern Queensland market, which was one area the vendor had not yet touched.
"We established a good relationship with XiT, which has been looking to expand its portfolio beyond printers and peripherals," he said. "We thought it would be a good partnership."
Ibrahim is also looking to establish partnerships in WA and SA but nothing has been confirmed yet.
