Queensland-based inTechnology has scored an exclusive distribution deal with Extraxi to carry its aaa-reports.
The security software provides IT administrators with auditing, analysis and reporting capabilities for all types of AAA radius networking services including 802.1x, VoIP, network access control, VPN, firewall and dial-up.
The distributor's sales and marketing director, Mark Winter, said the vendor wanted to expand its operations into the local market.
"The radius market is one area where have sound knowledge. We deal with two major radius vendors, Cisco and Juniper, so it was a natural fit," he said.
Winter has targeted revenues of $300,000 in aaa-reports during the first year. He said partners would be offered bundles with Cisco and Juniper radius products.
"It's not a big number but we see that expanding over the next couple of years. The introduction and deployment of end-point security is going to be a big thing in the next 2-3 years," he said. "There is already a market out there for partners that have sold a radius server. Now they have a good reason to revisit those customers with this reporting tool. The ability to report based on users getting access to the network is becoming a lot more prevalent now."
Winter would like to work with more resellers in the security space, particularly around remote access solutions and wireless security.
Extraxi sales director, Mark Potter, said the vendor's rapid growth had prompted a move from direct sales to a distribution model.
"We chose inTechnology because it has technical experience and reseller relationships in the AAA solution space," he said. "We anticipate a significant sales boost."
