SA-based Leader Computers has added mobile accessories vendor, Targus, to its vendor line-up.
The distributor's managing director, Paul Kristoris, said it had about 1000 resellers in SA and NT. It would bundle some of the vendor's cases and accessories with LG, Asus and Leader notebooks. Partners will be provided with special introductory offers.
Leader joins Bluechip IT, Ingram Micro, BMS Technology, Dicker Data and Express Online in the distributor ranks. National sales manager, Paul Scanlan, said Targus wanted to expand its SMB reach. Systems integration was also a key market it wanted to play into. "It's important for us cover all sections of the market," he said. "Targus was only penetrating close to 30 per cent of notebook resellers. A lot of the resellers we didn't reach are in the SMB sector, which bought off distributors we weren't dealing with. We've made the conscious decision to spread our wings a little bit."
To help support partners, Targus is expanding its corporate sales teams in Sydney and Melbourne. "It is hard for a reseller to know everything," he said. "The team will do joint calls with partners to help explain our technology and keep customers abreast of new products."
