NSC to manage Crisis services

NSC Group has scored a contract to supply counselling support outfit, Crisis Support Services (CSS), with Avaya telephony. It beat Cisco, Alcatel and NEC to the $200,000 contract.
"With telephony, reliability comes first and this system will tolerate no down time," NSC managing director, Craig Neil, said. "CSS handles some fairly delicate matters so getting through and connecting is very important."
The new system replaces Telstra's CustomNet Spectrum PABX system. NSC will be fitting CSS with Avaya's communication manager architecture, S8300 media server, G700 media gateways and Expanded Meet Me Conferencing. There are also call monitoring options and Message Manager software that allows voicemails to be emailed or played on a PC.
NSC will provide ongoing support services and conduct a call centre review in three months.
"The detailed reporting system looks at the past and future requirements of the CSS business," Neil said. "They have a lot of scale to grow considerably and do other things for the community. The technology won't hold them back."
