Victorian computer parts distributor, Mittoni, has been given the nod from North American memory maker, OCZ, to carry its wares locally.
Mittoni joins Australia IT in sharing the distribution of OCZ products, but will have the exclusive rights on a number of its items, such as a range of heavy-duty PC power supply units (PSU), Mittoni director, Louis Mittoni, said.
"OCZ is doing a new high-end gaming PSU in 600 and 700 watts called the Game Extreme," he said. "These have been out in the US and Europe for a number of months, but we'll be bringing them here for the first time."
Mittoni said the market for performance computer parts was growing.
"With this brand our focus will be on product availability, rather than having items available in fits and spurts like it has been previously," he said. "We want to bring same availability to the market as they experience overseas."
Mittoni is also looking for more reseller partners. The distributor currently deals with small shops, large chains and online stores.
"What is attractive about the OCZ range is that they can offer something to their customers that helps them differentiate themselves from the standard computer shop," he said.
