Network Instruments recently introduced its GigaStor-WAN probe appliance that lets users save gathered data to a 2TB, 4TB or 8TB capture buffer or to a storage area network.

With the GigaStor-WAN probe, data can be gathered and reviewed in real-time without stopping the continuous data capture. Once data is gathered, IT can use the management interface to perform forensic analysis on it, play back voice and video conversations and Web transactions, and reconstruct e-mail for corporate governance and compliance.

GigaStor's Write-to-SAN capability lets administrators remove the storage limitation of an 8TB capture buffer.

The GigaStor-WAN captures and decodes all native WAN error and line conditions. It supports capture and write-to-disk rates of over 320MB/sec, and can monitor up to 12 links concurrently.

The GigaStor-WAN begins at $US17,000 for a 2TB configuration. Pricing for the GigaStor with write-to-SAN capability is $US35,000.
