Upgraded website reflects new focus

Open Channel Solutions (OCS) has given its website a facelift to reflect its changing role as a software distributor.
Managing director, Con Fiamegos, said the newly overhauled site contained several features designed to help resellers and end-users access information about its stable of Novell-compatible products. These included a reseller login function, with online ordering and email quote requests.
Partners would also be able to purchase Suse Linux via the OCS site. The next step would be to take more vendors online but some products would not be made available via the site because they need specific quotes. Its current vendors include Moonwalk, BakBone, Sophos and NetLeverage.
Other online facilities include a Novell government pricing list and access to the OCS licensing tool, Poetic. This provides Novell resellers and customers with the ability to renew licenses, view contract status and run automated reports.
The changes were critical in demonstrating OCS as a fully-fledged distributor, Fiamegos said.
