AirData goes mobile with Dexterra

Systems Integrator (SI) AirData has partnered with Dexterra to sell the vendor's mobility platform and applications.
Both companies have an existing relationship with hardware vendor Symbol Technologies and the partnership will see AirData offer the full Dexterra product set in conjunction with Symbol's hardware.
AirData's Business Manager, Paul Stubbs said one of the key attractions was Dexterra's horizontal platform which enabled industry specific applications such as RFID capture, parts inventories, and expenses capture to be added.
"The Dexterra product set fits the complete range of mobility solutions for any vertical market," he said. "That's the beauty of the product -- we're not locked in to a specific solution for a specific industry."
Stubbs also said the two companies shared similar visions of what mobility meant to the enterprise.
"A lot of people talk about mobility simply as remote access to email and internet. We view it as not just taking back-end systems and pushing them out to the field but to actually have specific solutions designed for workers out in the field to increase their performance and productivity," he said.
"That's the vision we've had for a number of years and the people behind Dexterra have a similar vision so I think that's where the true match was made."
AirData's customers range from small to medium sized enterprises through to larger companies in the manufacturing, warehouse management and transportation sectors.
Stubbs anticipates 75 per cent of AirData's current customer base will be adopting mobility products in the next few years.
The systems integrator also wants to take the Dexterra products out to new customers.
"We'd like to look at some potential new markets that we did not have access to before or where we have not been strong before, such as working around the enterprise asset management space," he said.
Dexterra has four other SI partners in Australia.
