Bluechip Infotech has become a national distributor of notebook cases and peripherals for Targus.
Sales director, Ron Jarvis, said the company had recently enjoyed growing notebook sales and predicted the new relationship would create bundling opportunities for its resellers. The distributor carries Acer, LG and BenQ notebooks.
"We haven't had any products like this before and it's a completely new addition to our portfolio," he said.
Bluechip joins Ingram Micro, BMS Technology, Express Online and Dicker Data in the Targus distribution ranks.
Targus national sales manager, Paul Scanlan, said Bluechip addressed a new market for the vendor within SMB, system builder and tier-two retail.
"All of our distributors have a market niche and we like to ensure they don't crossover too much," he said. "One of Bluechip's key strengths is that it has local warehousing and representation in each of the main states. It gets close to small resellers and chases local business."
