Creegan to manage Trend enterprise channel

Seeking to triple its enterprise sales by year's end, Trend Micro has added three new faces to its Sydney staff.
Charlie Creegan, who joins from Enterasys Networks, will renew the company's channel focus as enterprise partner manager.
Trend has also employed former Cisco staffer, Matthew Brigham, as business development manager for NSW, while Mark Olford has moved from McAfee to take up the role of enterprise account manager.
The appointments follow a significant restructure of the company's go-to-market model, which saw segmentation introduced into both its channel and customer base, managing director, Chris Poulos, said.
"If you open up the market to everyone then all you get is discounting, so we have made clear who we want to play with in this space," he said. "We now have sufficient staff on board to help close the deals and get resellers to install, manage and maintain customer relationships."
With the market flooded with security products, partner certification would also be at the forefront of Creegan's duties, Poulos said.
"It's hard enough for us to convince people to take on our products, let alone our partners," he said. "So we also want sales training and will work with partners so we can dovetail into their marketing initiatives."
