Channelworx bolsters security arsenal
Channelworx has signed up as a Trend Micro distributor for Australia and New Zealand in an effort to strengthen its position in the security market. The networking and security distributor will deliver Trend Micro’s entire range of security software for gateway, mail server, server and desktop level protection.
Channelworx decided to partner with Trend Micro because of its product quality and its strategic partnership with security appliance vendor Netscreen, managing director of Channelworx, Scott Lidgett, said. “We currently distribute Netscreen’s firewall and intrusion detection systems so Trend Micro’s solutions are a nice fit and it made sense for us to become a part of their strategic partnership,” he said. An expanded portfolio will enable the distributor to build its share in the security market. Four years ago, Channelworx expanded its core networking business to take advantage of the burgeoning security market.
WhiteGold appointed Tier-3 distributor
WhiteGold Solutions has been appointed Australian distributor of enterprise security vendor Tier-3’s Huntsman Security Information Manager. The niche security distributor is charged with supplying the Tier-3 Huntsman V3.7 security management system that is designed to eliminate the operational and technical impediments of signature-based enterprise security to automatically detect and respond to any security event, according to Tier-3 CEO, Peter Woollacott. “The core of the Huntsman system is the Behavioural Anomaly Detection (BAD) engine, which is a technology-independent system capable of dynamically building profiles of all enterprise events — regardless of their source or position in the OSI layer,” he said.
