Solution 6 buys into CABS

Solution 6 Holdings has announced its intent to buy Computer Automated Business Systems (CABS), an Australian practice management systems solution for large accountancy firms.
This news follows retrenchments and restructuring at the Solution 6-owned ISP, Access One. However, according to Solution 6 Holdings CEO Chris Tyler, the acquisition represents a significant step in re-engineering Solution 6's business and an opportunity to increase the company's worldwide market share.
Operationally, Solution 6 will be merging CABS with its existing tax software business, retaining both staff and products.
The company has also taken time out to explain its recent shake-up of Access One. According to Clive Mayhew-Begg, general manager of marketing and Internet business development, Solution 6 has been evaluating various strategic partners from the telecommunications industry to provide a next generation network.
"However, we have decided that Access One will remain as a key component to our business model.
"The company would be putting resources into integrating Access One with Solution 6. Software applications are becoming Web-enabled and therefore to combine leading applications with an IP networking infrastructure holds significant benefit," he said.
