Australian Insight for BMC

American software company BMC has recently signed a worldwide distribution agreement for a new Australian software package which complements its Patrol range of application and data management software products.
The Knowledge Module, now badged as Patrol Alarm Manager, was developed by Sydney company Insight Innovations and enables notification of users when the applications or systems being monitored by Patrol operate acceptable performance or capacity parameters. Notification by e-mail, pager or digital mobile phone allows users to ensure the continuity of critical applications and systems.
Alarm Manager is being sold through BMC and its global distribution in conjunction with Patrol.
Bill Dunn, managing director of BMC Software (Australia), said he was proud of BMC's role in taking Australian-developed, leading software to the world.
"Alarm Manager is testimony to the enormous reservoir of software talent here and is further reason why BMC continues to invest heavily in Australia. Patrol, which is now a major contributor to BMC's revenues, had its genesis in Australia," he said.
Designer of Alarm Manager and managing director of Insight Innovations, Mark Shoebridge, said the new technology had been well received by BMC throughout his initial dealings, and therefore made his progression to recognition much easier.
"The distribution agreement we now have with BMC and the fact that it has chosen to attach the Patrol name to our product is a sign of its confidence in the functionality and future of Alarm manager," he said.
