Letter to the editor: Australia Post development clarified
- 16 December, 1998 13:20
I would like to direct your attention to the article written by Rebecca Munro that appeared in your Developer Solutions section of Australian Reseller News dated 11 November. The article was titled : "Address matching software a winner at Australia Post".
I would like to take this opportunity to clarify some of the information in the article. Some readers may be left with the impression that Australia Post has used our product - Quick Address Pro - to help build their Postal Address File (PAF) and as part of the development of the FuturePOST initiative. Unfortunately, this is not the case (as attractive a concept that may be for us!).
Australia Post invited QAS Systems, along with a number of other independent third-party software developers, to support its FuturePOST initiative.
After a rigorous accreditation process, our address matching and correction software has been certified by Australia Post. However, when businesses choose to participate in FuturePOST, they have the choice of selecting any number of competitive address and correction software products, including the QAS range.
Australia is the first location for QAS outside of theUK after eight years of solid and rapid growth. We are very excited by the opportunities provided by the FuturePOST initiative, as well as a number of other growth areas here such as call centres.
Part of Australia's attractiveness to us is its healthy competitive software development environment - a feature that is strongly supported by Australia Post.
