Canberra reseller CES Computers cleaned up at last week's Hewlett-Packard excellence awards, taking home three trophies including the award for best corporate reseller.
The 13-year-old reseller was a shining star for Hewlett-Packard last year. It also won awards for Best NetServer SupportPack Connect Rate and Most Improved SupportPack Performance.
CES managing director Ian Harding said that "focus" had been the key to the company's strong performance last year.
"We've focused very strongly on our relationship with the customer and also our strategic partners like Hewlett-Packard. If you can get both of those things sorted out there is no reason why you can't be successful," Harding said.
CES restructured its sales team so that the reps were more heavily focused on a smaller number of accounts, he said. "They now work much more closely and in far greater depth and detail than we've done before."
"On top of that we invested very heavily in our support capabilities and that has made a big difference too," he said.
Heavy hitter Harvey Norman picked up the retail award, while Harris Technology won the excellence award for workgroup reseller. The excellence award for top business solutions centre went to NetWise. The number-one support pack reseller was AMS.
The distributor awards went to Tech Pacific for best wholesaler, DaisyTek and Alepine Peripherals.
