Dialog secures slice of ICE

Australian IT services provider Dialog Information Technology has purchased a 50 per cent shareholding in award-winning multimedia design house, ICE Media.

The remaining 50 per cent of ICE Media will remain with the company's founding managing director, Paul Campbell. The move follows Dialog's recent acquisition of specialist labour hire/recruitment software company AXiOM, and the acquisition late last year of $6 million Sydney-based IT services company, Intrinsic Solutions.

ICE Media develops websites for corporate and government clients and produces CD-ROM titles for general and specialist markets around the world. In addition to web design, ebusiness and touch screen solutions, its skills include digital animation, 3D modelling and video graphic effects.

ICE Media is one of the main suppliers of multimedia and internet services to the Queensland Government. Other clients include the Federal Government's Education Network Australia (EdNA), Mincom, Manaccom, Brisbane Airport Corporation and Domino's Pizza.

Dialog's managing director, Alan Key, said the stake in ICE Media was the next step in a strategic plan to position Dialog as a tier one player in Australia's systems integration and IT services market. He said the move supported Dialog's goal of posting turnover of $43 million.

"Dialog and ICE Media will jointly pursue opportunities with SMEs, large corporates and government departments to provide fully integrated ebusiness solutions that are flexible and extensible as well as cost-effective and strongly focused on service delivery," Key said.
