British Telecom's systems integration business Syntegra has acquired e-commerce integrator Control Data Systems for $US340 million.
The move positions Syntegra strongly in the global market, claims Bill Halbert, managing director of Syntegra, with the coupling of Syntegra's integration and networking skills (through BT networking company Syncordia) and Control Data Systems' strength in e-commerce solutions.
"Control Data Systems' strengths in electronic business and enterprise-wide Internet applications combined with our own track record in business community systems make a very powerful combination," Halbert said.
The two companies have combined revenues of $US832 million and Control Data Systems' CEO James Ousley is excited by the prospect that the new company has potentially "unmatched" global depth and scale.
