Triton secures authentic market

Taking advantage of the buoyant biometric authentication market in Australia and New Zealand is priority number one for startup Triton Secure, which has formed an alliance with Veridicom, a provider of silicon-based fingerprint authentication technology.
The Veridicom Integration Partners (VIP) agreement is made up of global leaders in biometrics, information sec-urity, access control, computing and software that collaborate to produce authentication solutions.
Triton Secure's chief operating officer, John Meddows, said the move was prompted by the local market's desire to remain a step ahead of other parts of the world. He believes Australia is currently an active market for security products.
Triton Secure is a provider of biometric identification and authentication technology, and one of the benefits of the newly formed alliance will be early access to Verdicom's latest technical developments. He believes that it is good for an Australian business to be part of it. 'I think it also adds some credibility to the organisation to be able to have that accreditation that we are a VIP partner of Veridicom.'
Triton Secure has already received its first shipment of Veridicom scanners for implementation into its customer networks.
Meddows said the channel would have a significant role to play as his company uses the reseller business model. 'They're the people out there now who have got the large networking customers. They will be playing a very active role,' he said. Meddows said resellers would be selling, integrating and providing professional services around the software and hardware products.
Product technology support and marketing support will be provided by Triton Secure, which is planning to provide training as part of its reseller agreements.
Through its master distributor agreement with solutions provider Saflink, Triton Secure will combine the Veridicom technology with its Saflink range of biometric enterprise network solutions. Saflink, which is based in Florida, and is also a Veridicom integration partner.
