Zultys announces major software upgrade for the MX250 Enterprise Media Exchange

 • 27 September, 2004 10:08

Sydney, Australia, 27 September 2004 – Zultys Technologies today announced the release of version 2.2 of the software for its MX250 IP PBX. Among other things, this software release extends the functionality of the MX250 by permitting fax termination and origination from any location.

Remote users can now send or receive faxes as easily as users in the office. Version 2.2 also gives businesses the ability to archive instant messages and voice mail, helping them meet regulatory requirements. The new version supports additional languages for voice mail, automated attendant, and the client interface, offering today’s global or growing companies seamless communication between disparate locations.

The new software adds many powerful features, including:
- Account codes (for professional service industries such as law and accounting)

- Group call pickup (answer calls from any phone in a group)

- Call restrictions (block or authenticate individuals on certain calls)

- Many additional call detail reports (CDR)

- Fax termination and origination (support for faxes without an external fax server)

- Enhanced unified messaging (receive voice mail and faxes in any email client, such as Outlook)

- Bandwidth management for calls between sites (maintains high voice quality)

- Support for Japanese telecommunications providers (J1 and Japanese BRI)

- Additional languages for voice mail, automated attendant, and client interface (MXIE)

- Archiving of instant messages and voice mail

This release also includes the following features which were previously announced:

- Advanced ACD (providing a complete call centre solution)

- MXcluster (providing scalability to 1000 users as well as redundancy)

These features are available no matter what size of business or enterprise is using the MX250. For companies with a single site, the addition of account codes, call restrictions, group pickup, and extensive CDRs increase control and accountability for business management.

For remote workers, being able to send and receive faxes from the desktop and have email notification of faxes and voice mails, are great productivity tools. For enterprises with multiple sites, the ability to control bandwidth utilisation between sites is critical. For global businesses, the addition of Japanese interfaces and support for many additional languages makes it easier to deploy IP telephony worldwide. Finally, the ability to retain and archive instant messages and voice mail allows businesses to comply with governmental regulations.

"Our customers are really excited about this release," said Damon May, Solutions Architect of Zultys reseller, AVC. "We used to sell competing systems. However, the rich feature set and manageability of the MX250 blow those out of the water. Our customers love the MX250, and this new software has widened the lead that Zultys has over any other solution we've seen."

Pricing and Availability:
Release 2.2 is available at no charge for Zultys customers with an existing software subscription. Customers without a subscription can upgrade for $4,070.
