ScanSoft Partners with Alloys International to Extend Reach into Australian Enterprises

<p>SYDNEY, Australia – 27 September, 2004 – ScanSoft, Inc. (Nasdaq: SSFT), the global leader of speech and imaging solutions, has signed a partner agreement with Alloys International, a leading distributor of digital imaging products to the Australian computer reseller industry.</p>
<p>Alloys International will distribute ScanSoft’s range of productivity applications including ScanSoft® PaperPort®, OmniPage® and PDF Converter®, to its customers including system integrators, VARs, resellers and retailers. These products are used by business professionals across the world to automatically convert, generate or re-create electronic documents to PDF and many other formats directly from scanned paper or existing digital files and desktop applications. ScanSoft applications teamed with network scanning or multi-function devices enable organizations to add substantial efficiencies to their day to day document conversion and paper management tasks.</p>
