GE Commercial Finance has appointed an Australian reseller channel manager to take charge of its financing push into the IT industry.
The company's managing director of vendor finance, Sandra Philpott, said Graeme McDonald's posting to the newly created role was proof of its long-term commitment to servicing the IT channel.
"Graeme's appointment will help support our development of our IT&T vendor financing division," she said.
"He will take the front line view and be the point of contact for discussions with dealerships."
McDonald previously held a management position within GE for five years, Philpott said.
He will be based in the company's Melbourne office and supported by staff in both Melbourne and Sydney.
GE launched its first third-party financing package, eXpress Finance, for the IT and telecoms community in Australia earlier this month. The plans are designed to give both distributors and resellers the ability to provide financing arrangement across technology products.
Philpott said the initiative was part of plans to extend its financing products right through the IT chain: from the manufacturer to the reseller.
One million customers had already signed up to the technology vendor financing platforms worldwide, she said. The company currently had 45 resellers accredited in A/NZ.
