Agate grabs GoBack software deal

While the "Love Bug" is still wreaking havoc on some systems, a new software product from Adaptec can make the clean-up a little easier, allowing the user to go back and set the system to a time before problems occurred.

The aptly named software GoBack, which will be available from June 1, allows users to undo common user errors and serious system problems on PCs.

"It offers great peace of mind for customers, because it provides them with a level of security not previously available," said Agate's national sales and marketing manager Michael Calculli.

Agate will showcase GoBack to resellers across Australia during its roadshow, which will run from June 14 - 23.

"It is a good product for resellers, because it appeals to all aspects of the market, and the price will make it an easy add-on."

Exact pricing has yet to be announced, but the software will be sold through the channel for around $100.

The software does not require a lot of technical knowledge to restore the computer to its former working glory, Calculli said.

"You can retrieve individual files or restore the entire hard disk. If you have saved over a file a number of times, and all of a sudden realise you need one of the older versions, it is very simple to retrieve it."
