Asus A3N

Asus has released the A3N notebook series featuring a built-in Web Camera. The unit supports both mobile Intel Pentium- M and Intel Celeron M processors and comes with wireless 802.11 built onboard. Other features include up to 1GB of SO-DIMM memory, the choice of either a 14-inch or 15-inch XGA active matrix colour TFT LCD and DVD-Burning capability. Audio DJ, a feature that allows users to listen to their favourite songs without entering Windows, is an interesting inclusion. The A3N offers up to six hours worth of battery life and weighs less than three kilograms. The A3N is distributed by Cassa.

Tecra M2

The Tecra M2 notebook series for corporate and small-to-medium sized businesses is ideal for IT managers and enterprise fleet managers who require a stable, configurable notebook with a long product lifecycle. The M2 delivers a balance of portability, hardware and image stability plus high performance. The new thin and light design features include a magnesium alloy chassis for added durability that also makes it the lightest in its class at only 2.26kg. Combined with extended battery life of up to 11 hours, this makes the Tecra M2 the ideal road-ready business notebook. Featuring the Intel Pentium M Processor up to 1.7GHz, the Tecra M2 Series is available in four configurations including high speed, high capacity hard drives (up to 80GB), DVD-CDRW or DVD-multi optical drives, memory capacity up to 2GB, industry-leading 3D graphics with nVIDIA and high speed communications such as G-bit Ethernet, iLink, Bluetooth and 802.11a/b wireless. Toshiba's bundled software suite also extended functionality and assists in the ease of deployment and support, the company said. ConfigFree software is pre-installed to simplify automatic connection to multiple wired and wireless network profiles for users moving between various work locations and can diagnose any connection problems. Fujitsu LifeBook P7010

Fujitsu PC Australia has launched the LifeBook P7010 for mobile professionals. Lightweight with a pearl-white finish, the P7010 combines style with enhanced security, high-performance features and long battery life. It includes fingerprint recognition access, password protection for data and an anti-theft lock slot. Smaller than an A4 page, the P7010 sits less than 3.5cm high. Weighing about 1.4kg, it is one of the lightest notebooks available, making it ultra portable for computing on the go. The LifeBook also features Intel Centrino Mobile Technology providing longer battery life of up to 11.2 hours with an optional modular bay battery, and ensuring data and applications can be accessed and processed more efficiently. There is a range of connectivity interfaces, including network connections, wireless capability and USB 2.0 ports. A DVD/CD-RW Combo drive lets users read DVDs and CDs and also write CDs on the go. Users can store up to 60GB of data on the P7010's hard-disk drive. The product is distributed in Australia by Ingram Micro and Westan.

Excel G556

Protac International Computers has released the Excel G556 notebook, which is equipped with dedicated 128MB ATI Radeon Mobility 9700 graphic accelerator, DVD burner, 15-inch SXGA+ (1400x1050) display and Intel's Centrino mobile technology. The notebook was ideal for people on the go and those who wanted high graphic performance and wireless capability in one machine, the company said. Other features include: 1 x Type II PCMCIA slot; more than three hours battery life; on board 10/100 Base-T LAN chip, mini PCI solution: 56K V9.0 Fax/Modem, and optical wireless LAN; and ACPI 1.1 compliance in terms of power management. The product is distributed exclusively in Australia by Protac.

Optima Centoris E+ Series

Offering high-performance and total functionality, Optima has launched the Centoris E+ Series notebooks. Based on the latest Intel Centrino mobile technology, the Centoris E+ Series notebook offers enhanced mobile processing power and wireless capabilities, ensuring true mobility for home and business users, according to the company. An ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 graphics card with 64MB video memory offers added graphic capabilities for online gaming and content creation and a high resolution 15-inch SuperXGA+ LCD screen (1400x1050) delivers bright, sharp images. The E+ Series comes in a durable, lightweight magnesium alloy casing and has a powerful battery that lasts for five hours. The product is distributed exclusively in Australia by Optima.

HP Pavilion zt3301AP

HP has unleashed the Pavilion zt3301AP, a premium entertainment notebook that offers a 15.4-inch widescreen TFT display and Wide Viewing Angle (WVA). Features include easy file transfer (SD slot), comprehensive multimedia software (Intervideo Home Theatre software and iTunes with included remote control) and wireless freedom (offering the latest Centrino technology with 2Mb L2 cache. The notebook also has enhanced graphics (offering 64Mb dedicated - ATI Mobility Radeon 9200. It is distributed in Australia by Tech Pacific and Dicker Data.

Acer TravelMate 8000

Acer's TravelMate 8000 sports the Intel Centrino mobile technology platform with the latest Intel Pentium M processor 745 featuring a 1.8GHz processor, 2MB Level 2 cache and 400MHz front side bus, delivering enhanced performance, wireless connectivity and extended battery life. Hosting advanced security features, Smart Card technology adds another layer of data protection to the Acer TravelMate 8000, according to the company. It features ATI mobility Radeon graphics with up to 128MB of DDR VRAM. The product is distributed in Australia by Bluechip IT, Ingram Micro, IT Wholesale and Hitech.
