MS ANTITRUST - Windows to Lindows: Lay off

Despite the efforts of Microsoft lawyers to stop them, the Linux supplier,, has said it will continue to help Californians with their legal claims against Microsoft.

Microsoft lawyers demanded that Lindows' MSfreePC site stop processing claims on behalf of current and former California residents who qualify for proceeds from the settlement of a class action antitrust lawsuit against Microsoft.

Microsoft attorneys contend that claims made by the Lindows service will not qualify under the terms of the settlement and therefore made a demand that Lindows take down the site.

Lindows CEO, Michael Roberts, sent a letter to Microsoft chairman, Bill Gates, stating he believed the site performed a valuable service for consumers and so his company intended to keep it live.
