Chariot's on fire

Listed Internet service provider Chariot Internet has doubled its regional presence by purchasing another regional ISP, NorthNet Internet Services in Armidale, NSW, the company announced yesterday.

The NorthNet acquisition increased Chariot's points of presence from 13 to 25, across NSW, Victoria and South Australia.

NorthNet's 5500 subscribers will boost Chariot's subscriber base to more than 40,000.

"NorthNet's existing broad base of customers will benefit significantly from the acquisition, as the new group will be able to draw on Chariot's extensive experience, state-of-the-art delivery systems and satellite bandwidth access," said Gary Chua, Chariot's managing director.
