Etail startup Smartbuy has secured another part of its strategy with the appointment of Call Centre Services (CCS) to handle inbound and outbound phone sales.
Smartbuy plans to conduct a mass-market campaign advertising its 1300 number and its 100 to 200 top-selling products, which managing director Tony Gattari claims will represent up to 80 per cent of sales volume.
"A call centre system addresses people's concerns about passing financial details over the internet and it reaches shoppers who do not have a computer or internet access," Gattari said in a press statement.
"Customer loyalty is a major concern to our suppliers and they are striving to address the issue."
The call centre will operate seven days a week from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and on weekends from 9am to 5pm. CCS has 15 operators it claims can handle 500 calls an hour across 30 phone lines.
