Local hardware vendor, Swann Communications, aims to increase its channel sales by recruiting some new distributors.
Former eXeed employee, Rick Phelps, will lead the charge in the newly created role of national sales manager.
He said the vendor was on the hunt for a national broad-based distributor, as well as niche players in select states. Phelps identified Victoria, New South Wales and Western Australia as key areas for growth.
"Ideally we'd like an exclusive agreement but that could be difficult," he said.
Swann currently uses OTC, BCN, Omega and HiTech to deal with its predominantly retail partner base.
Phelps claimed the Melbourne-based vendor was offering reseller margins of up to 40 per cent across its range of USB devices, modems and security accessories.
The sales push coincides with the release of a new range of Platinum USB 2.0 mobile and desktop devices.
The company was also offering lifetime warranties and technical phone support, he said.
While Swann currently attributed 30 per cent of its revenues to channel business, Phelps said it would like that figure to pass 40 per cent.
As well as targeting local growth, Swann has created a new export manager's role to expand international partner sales.
The position, which has been taken up by Sue Noble, will cover sales and channel development in Europe, South Africa, South America, Asia and the Middle East.
