Hitachi lets fly with new Ultra Lite

Hitachi last week let loose its 220 Ultra Lite sub-notebook on Australian shores, hoping to snare the mobile executive market with the lightweight, space-conscious offering.

The sub-notebook is the size of a B5 sheet of paper, weighs 1.3kg and is 3cm thick, statistics Hitachi believe will attract the executive on the move.

With the same motivation in mind, Hitachi has designed the notebook with full Windows 98 compatibility and Internet browsing and e-mail features.
