Raidar Distribution Australia (RDA) has secured the exclusive Australian and New Zealand distribution rights for eSoft's Linux software suite TEAM Internet.
The Australian distributor will move eSoft's 100, 300 and 1500 model Internet access devices through the network-savvy reseller to small and medium businesses.
Previously the software vendor only had a presence in the medium ISP space through direct sales, though, according to Mark Lane, RDA's channel manager, had lacked any support capabilities.
Lane believes this narrow market focus will expand with RDA facilitating a move into the SME market through marketing campaigns and technical support.
The software's Linux platform and modular design is also very appropriate for small business. "It's just like an Internet server. It's perfect for SMEs," claimed Lane. The TEAM suite offers Internet applications such as e-mail, Web server and firewall security.
"It is going very well already. We've already got a dozen businesses on board and will continue to talk to some key Internet integrators and resellers."
Partners will have to demonstrate their wide area network and router knowledge to benefit from eSoft's solution.
The two companies' relationship started when RDA "found" eSoft at last year's Comdex and proposed to provide support closer to the ground in Australia and New Zealand. "There were quite a few similar solutions at Comdex but we think this one is best of breed and allows the smaller business to get on the Internet quickly and cheaply," said Lane.
