New Zealand distributor, GeoSystems, is scouring Australia for application service providers that can deliver new markets for upgraded tracking device, TrimTrac.
The device is produced by US-based GPS tracking vendor, Thimble International. GeoSystems is the sole distributor for A/NZ. COO, Martin Hewitt, said it was keen to recruit channel partners that could integrate the tracking device with vertical and market-oriented services.
"The product suits resellers offering asset management or tracking services, or others looking to get into those markets," he said. "The device also lends itself to construction, transport operators and agriculture."
The new TrimTrac 1.5 model will be available in August. Hewitt said customers using the previous 1.0 version included private investigators and construction companies. The new model, which upgrades from SMS text messages to GPRS technology, would open up the market into low-level consumer areas requiring real-time functionality, Hewitt said. He highlighted the motor vehicle and boat hiring industry and security as examples.
Other new features include a GoFencing function, which can report if a unit goes outside a prescribed area.
GeoSystem's current Australian partners are Mr Hawk, PhantomEye and GoFinder.
"At the moment our partners are fairly broad. We're looking for people with a niche in the market," Hewitt said.
GeoSystems will provide technical advice and customer leads.
