The price of Canon's business printer, the BJC-5000, has been reduced by $100 after its initial release in October last year.
The colour printer is now available for $499 from all Canon dealers and retailers with a standard one-year warranty.
With its dual cartridge technology, the BJC-5000 is targeted mainly at the SOHO and business markets because of the resultant printing speed of 7.5ppm in monochrome and 2.85ppm in colour.
Canon's Drop Modulation technology offers businesses 1440dpi because of its ability to eject various size ink droplets rather than a uniform droplet.
With the optional PhotoRealism feature, the printer is capable of realistic photo output, according to the company.
The price cut coincides with the release of Canon's new BJC-6000, a photo quality printer that offers separate ink cartridges for $549.
The third printer in Canon's BJC range is the BJC-7100, which goes for an RRP of $599.
