Australian learning solutions integrator, Impart, has signed on as the exclusive Asia-Pacific reseller for US-based Plateau Systems.
Under the deal Impart will act as the local point of presence for the learning management software vendor's services and support through its offices in Sydney and Singapore.
Impart CEO, Alex Smith, said Plateau would provide the foundation layer for its software division.
"Our three lines of business are content, services and software and this package integrates the three," he said.
The agreement was a timely one as it found Impart without a flagship learning management systems vendor, Smith said.
"We were previously the exclusive reseller for Docent in Asia-Pacific, but following their merger with Click2Learn, we couldn't reach an agreement with the new entity, SumTotal Systems," he said. "We were lucky to find a company such as Plateau."
The two companies recently set out on the campaign trail in an effort to educate big government and corporates on the link between a competent work force and minimising risk.
"It's like any other new software family, the proof is in the results," Smith said, "But the link to organisational goals is becoming more obvious and learning management systems are becoming something of a competitive advantage."
In an effort to further expand its business, Impart would also look to make bigger waves in the Asian finance market, as well as launch an education services offering, Smith said.
The integrator was hopeful of securing ongoing revenue streams by providing education services throughout the lifetime of long-term project rollouts such as retail banking packages.
"We're beefing up our technical integration teams and are partnering with content owners and providers so we can hit the ground running," he said.
