BCAIT launches enterprise services

A demand for enterprise-level services in the small end of town has prompted Australian IT services company BCAIT to offer remote network management to medium-sized companies of 100 to 1000 seats.

BCAIT last week launched a network and enterprise service, RemoteCARE, to be run through its new national Network Operations Centre.

John Haley, BCAIT's national marketing manager, said there is a compelling business case for medium enterprises to move their network management online.

The BCAIT RemoteCARE package is available for servers, LANs and WANs, and comes in two levels.

The standard service incorporates many features such as fault detection and resolution, while the Gold package provides a more comprehensive reporting, the ability to generate and view reports across the Internet, ownership of daily operations and the annual upgrade of software.

Haley said the fact that the service is remote gives it an edge because it allows a more proactive approach.

"Because it's remote, we can pick problems before they happen. We really understand the network and we can pre-empt problems and give good advice.

"Someone just coming into the office when they're called in can't give you the proactive abilities we have."
