Back-up software developer Dantz is on the hunt for resellers to join its mission to build its Australian market presence.
Lidcam Technology, its local distributor, said it will spend the coming weeks searching for preferred partners for the technology in all states.
Touting margins of 20 points, Lidcam's software sales manager, Darrin Iatrou, said the product is capable of catering for individual users right up to large enterprises. "We really are targeting everyone," he said, commenting that opportunities exist for both large and small resellers.
The company touts a line of intuitive backup software management tools that allows IT managers or users to automate backup of files on PCs, servers and notebooks as needed.
In fact, Dantz last week announced the launch of retrospect Express Backup for Windows, designed for the individual user, retailing for $109.
According to Dantz's VP of sales and marketing, Craig Isaacs, the opportunity exists for resellers to offer the product in addition to other services and be the "hero" that saves their data. "The resellers that pick this up first will win customer loyalty," he said.
The unique feature of the Retrospect line, the company claims, is the ability to identify and back up new files not previously backed up. This, according to the company, saves customers from backing up entire hard disks. The products, which include Retrospect Workgroup Backup ($719) and Server Backup ($1099), allow the user or IT manager to restore files as saved at different intervals.
Danz has annual global revenues of $US15 million and local revenues of around $1 million.
