APC compresses rackmount Smart-UPS
American Power Conversion (APC) has announced enhancements to its Smart-UPS uninterruptible power supply (UPS) range with the introduction of a smaller (3.5in high) rack-mount model.
The new 2U Smart-UPS rack-mount UPS is available in 700VA, 1000VA, and 1400VA, and according to APC, addresses the ever-increasing demand for rack-enabled solutions fuelled by the explosive growth of data, voice and Internet traffic and the need to conserve precious rack space in data centre environments.
APC claims the design offers simplified service and longer battery runtime.
Estimated Australian resale pricing for the new 700VA, 1000VA and 1400VA Smart-UPS 2U in is $1093, $1439 and $1716 respectively.
APC's new Smart-UPS 2U features:
l An average of 35 per cent more battery runtime than APC's existing rack-mount UPSs on 1000VA and 1400VA models
l A wider input voltage range is provided which can maintain computer grade power even if the nominal voltage drops by 30 per cent without the UPS switching to battery l Simplified process for battery removal and replacement in all three VA models
l Includes support rails for four-post mounting, in addition to traditional two-post mounting.
Panasonic 19-inch LCD
Panasonic Australia has released a 19in LCD monitor - the PanaFlat LC90s.
The LC90s screen can be mounted flush to the wall, or on an optional swivel arm. It can be used with touch-screen modules, so is also suitable for information kiosks.
Dimensions are 246mm (D) x 461mm (H) x 447mm (W).
The screen includes two built-in stereo speakers with 3.5mm headphone jack, and six USB connectors located in the monitor stand. In addition, the LC90s offers dual 15-pin VGA input and USB input for PC connection.
According to Panasonic, the TFT active matrix screen delivers a 140º angle of vision, with little or no deviation in colour or image quality; and low flicker, which reduces eyestrain.
The PanaFlat LC90s is priced at $11,000 rrp and is available from selected Panasonic distributors.
