Canberra-based reseller Office Productivity Centre (OPC) has purchased a Web development firm, SafetyWeb Internet Solutions.
OPC is a company with 32 staff that currently provides PCs to the Federal Government, and software and network solutions for small businesses in Canberra and southern NSW.
John Macintyre, OPC's managing director, told ARN the SafetyWeb purchase would allow OPC to offer a more complete range of services.
"It's no secret the Internet and Web commerce is the way of the future. We've dabbled in it a bit, but this step will put us on the map in one lump sum. Now we've got a core team of people and we're ready to expand."
SafetyWeb moved into the OPC building last weekend, but will retain its own name and structure as a wholly owned subsidiary.
