FileNET's Panagon Web Publisher
The new version of e-content publishing and management tool Panagon Web Publisher 4.0 from FileNET promises to deliver new functionality to users publishing and developing relationships between groups of documents published on the Web.
Supporting both HTML and XML, some of Panagon Web Publisher's main capabilities include: an `abstraction' module that allows users to automatically analyse and map style elements used in a site's content; an incremental publishing feature which allows documents to be published according to a specified publishing schedule; enhanced frame capabilities and a multiple Web page publication function. The product is shipping now.

VisiBroker 3.3 for Delphi from Inprise
Development tools vendor Inrpise has announced its plans to open-source the new version of its cross-platfrom SQL database InterBase 6. According to a company statement, Inprise plans to publish the source code for InterBase 6 in the first part of 2000.
InterBase, originally designed for business-critical, mobile computing and Internet-based applications on Linux, Windows NT, Solaris and Unix, will nevertheless be sold and supported through distribution channels as before.
The company said the opening of the source code to the database should boost the sales of its development tools and application server, while at the same time propelling the company to the `forefront of the Linux database market'.
InterBase source code will be published on www.borland.com.
Meanwhile, Inprise has released the new version of VisiBroker 3.3 for Delphi allowing developers to `quickly create and deploy distributed applications in computing environments including Windows and Linux', while providing them with `a complete CORBA environment for Delphi'. The tool is available for download at www.borland.com/visibroker/delphi.
Linkbot Enterprise 1.1 from Watchfire
North American e-business analysis solutions provider Watchfire has announced the release of the enhanced version of its automated Web site testing solution Linkbot Enterprise.
According to Watchfire, Linkbot Enterprise 1.1 will enable companies to `effectively manage and analyse Internet/intranet deployments regardless of size, technology standards or configuration'. With capabilities such as quantitative reporting, data scanning and gathering and customised error reports, Watchfire's software could play an important role in the processes of testing and maintaining Web sites regardless of users' technological savvy.
