New release of IDM 20.1 increases customer satisfaction and loyalty by offering personalised Web access to images and documents

SYDNEY, Australia — May 31, 2006 — Vignette, a leading enterprise content management (ECM) provider, today announced the immediate availability of Vignette IDM 20.1, the foundation product of Vignette’s Imaging and Workflow solution. The new release features more robust reporting and workflow automation capabilities and integrates with Vignette’s award-winning Portal to help customers manage and leverage their content more effectively.

"Vignette IDM has had a dramatic impact in enhancing our internal business efficiencies and how we serve our customers," said Robin Karpeta, IT director at ACE, a leading global insurance and financial services provider. "The document and image management system makes us truly location-independent, and enables us to significantly grow our business while cutting building and storage costs. The quality of information stored and the way in which it can be used has dramatically improved customer service by giving employees real-time access to the right information at the right time."

Vignette’s Imaging and Workflow solution helps organisations reduce their reliance on paper, lowering storage costs and mitigating the risk of catastrophic destruction of paper documents and records. Vignette’s solution enables organisations to transition to high-volume digital document processing, which dramatically streamlines paper-intensive transactions. With the following enhancements, Vignette IDM 20.1 provides the foundation for even more feature-rich document imaging and workflow applications:
- Automated retention schedules to enable adherence to record keeping regulations
- New reporting capabilities to assess business volumes and analyse historical trends
- Automated email notifications to alert users when documents of interest are captured

Full integration with Vignette Portal, making possible the personalised Web delivery of digital documents and transaction information to key internal and external constituents
"By integrating Imaging and Workflow with Portal, Vignette customers are able to take their digitised content and deliver it to their constituents through an Intranet, Extranet or public Web site," said Jeetu Patel, executive vice president at Doculabs, Inc. "This is significant for organisations in the financial services, insurance and healthcare industries where the demand for meeting more stringent compliance regulations must be balanced with the ability to provide swift, effective customer service."

"Vignette has a rich history of innovation as well as being enterprise strength in performance, reliability and scalability," said Brett Bachman, senior vice president, Products and Strategy at Vignette. "The Imaging and Workflow solution has been enhanced to provide universal access through the Web to the image and document repository. This enhanced solution can help healthcare organisations gain convenient access to complete patient medical records, insurance companies process and manage paper-intensive claims more efficiently and financial institutions streamline their application approval processes."
