IT companies have joined corporate Australia in a daring bicycle race across the desert to raise money for the youth suicide prevention organisation Here For Life and its high school program "Life's A Ball".
Teams from companies such as Microsoft, Vodafone, Ericsson and Ninemsn will compete against other corporate teams and likes of the AFL, ARL and the Australian Wallabies.
Starting at Erldunda, outside of Alice Springs, the teams will follow a six day circular route through the Simpson Desert.
Pictured here are eight Microsoft employees who have accepted the Vodafone Extreme Corporate Challenge, a six-day, 540km mountain bike race fielded by 13 teams.
Microsoft told [ital]Tabloid[ital] it will donate $100,000 in 2000 to "Life's A Ball", if its two teams complete the challenge.
The teams arrive on August 19 to meet young people from the region before starting the Challenge on August 20.
