Sydney-based financial and business management solutions integrator Eclipse Computing Australia has partnered with a similar UK-based organisation and will distribute the latter's Web-based time management application, Tempo.
The client/server enterprise application was developed by UK consultant and independent software vendor Foundation Systems which is now looking for international markets after significant home success.
According to Malcolm Featherstone, Eclipse Computing's Australian manager, this is one of the first "complete and fully featured" applications that "doesn't focus too closely on specific market groups".
"Most other applications tend to be broader ERP solutions," Featherstone said. He added that such solutions tend not to be focused enough on the specific business issues that are related to time management and accounting for the billing of services.
Featherstone said that in addition to marketing the "professional services force automation" product directly to its existing customer base, Eclipse will be looking for reseller partners in regions where it is not strong. These include Queensland, South Australia and Canberra.
"The competition is diverse but Tempo is focused on professional services," Featherstone said.
As resellers move further towards their own services-based methodologies, Featherstone claims that Tempo will help these organisations to maximise the efficiency and returns from the billing process. At the same time, he says being a Web-based application enables it all to be operated remotely.
