IT services organisation Powerlan has announced its acquisition of business consulting organisation APA Management Services.
Powerlan reports its objective is to increase the business consulting services within its corporate and public sector customer base. In addition, it will also target the SME sector, which the company believes is largely untapped by most consulting firms.
While the acquisition remains subject to a confidentiality agreement, the company has revealed the deal involves the issue of shares in Powerlan in line with previous acquisitions.
Powerlan's managing director, Theo Baker, said the acquisition of APA Management Services was its first step into the area of strategic business consulting within the IT&T value chain.
"Powerlan can now offer its customers the strategic business consultancy and then provide the necessary information technology skills to deliver the desired business outcome," he said.
Baker said the business consultancy was another element which would enhance its ASP offering to potential customers.
APA Management Services' clients are predominantly in the public sector, and the company specialises in providing a range of business and IT-related consulting services.
APA Management Services' managing director, Allan Platcher, will continue to head up the organisation.
